Choosing a hosting provider can be overwhelming

Not only do you have to understand the hardware you are renting, but also wade through the vague technical terms used for marketing products. When you get access to the server, what exactly is on it? How much work is it going to take to make sure the machine is running the software you want and how are you going to verify that it has been set up properly? Will the hosting provider tell you when you are starting to tax the limits of your machine and make recommendations to upgrade (and what to upgrade to)?

We can help

Talk to us and tell us what kind of online presence you are going for. What kind of things you are doing or hope to do. With that information we can help you pick out a server configuration (or server configurations) that will be cost effective and fit the needs of your business. When you rent or purchase a server from us, we have a standard configuration that goes on every machine:

  • Apache > 2.2
  • Perl > 5.1
  • PHP >= 5.3
  • MySQL > 5.1
  • Postfix > 2.6
  • Webmin > 1.5

These six server programs will always be set up and ready for you to use the moment we hand over the keys to your new machine. If you need assistance further setting up your new server, help is only a call away. Did you need iCal installed? Do you want OpenLDAP linked to Postfix so that your organization can use all the features an LDAP backend provides? Do you know what an LDAP backend can provide? Simply tell us what you want the end result to be, and we'll make the path to get there.

Day to day monitoring and backups are automatic, with status reports being sent to people who can look for errors and take measures to either correct or prevent bad things from happening. We'll watch the load and response time of your system, and if things start slowing down we'll make appropriate recommendations to correct the situation. Our goal is to make sure that your experience with your server isn't an experience – everything just "works".

RAID 0,1 available
3 Expansion Slots
$180/month

This is small business server which can handle a lot of traffic, and data processing plus keep your data safe with a RAID 1 configuration or speed up database and filesystem responsiveness with a RAID 0.

Would you be interested in donating some of your server's cycles to Standford University's "Folding @ Home " project? This project uses spare CPU cycles to help scientists understand protien folding, and the problems that can arrise under different circumstances. With the volunteer cycles that have been donated so far, they have made come up with some astonishing results. You can get more information at the Folding@Home website. Installing this software on your server generally makes for minimal impact, with only the busiest of servers noticing any slowdown. Being part of this project is voluntary and can be stopped at any time.
